Taxpayer Rights Conference Save the Date: 2019

Didn’t make it to the 3rd International Conference on Taxpayer Rights? Catch up on what you missed and enhance your knowledge of taxpayer rights on a global scale. Videos are now available from each panel discussion and presentation conducted during the 3rd International Conference on Taxpayer Rights. Experience conversations held among international tax leaders in their fields throughout the conference hosted in Amsterdam in May 2018.

This conference, convened by the National Taxpayer Advocate and hosted by the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD), brought experts from around the world, and from diverse disciplines including government, law, economics, psychology, anthropology, and organizational behavior, to propose and explore ways to enhance taxpayer rights in tax administration. The conference encouraged discussion and debate between representatives from participating countries on issues such as:
 

  • Perspectives on Taxpayer Rights: A Multidisciplinary Approach
  • Preventing Disputes: Early Warnings and Intervention, and Early Resolution
  • Taxpayer Protections in Cross-Border Taxation
  • Penalties: Theory and Administration
  • Taxpayer Access to Appeals and Mediation
  • Good Governance and Remedies: Taxpayer Rights in Application
     

In addition to participating on the final panel, National Taxpayer Advocate Nina E. Olson opened the conference and presented her perspective on the current environment for taxpayer rights. You can view each panel on YouTube:
