This is a special alert for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) beneficiaries who didn’t file a tax return in 2018 or 2019 and have eligible dependents. Use the IRS’s special Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here tool to report your eligibile dependent(s) by May 5 so you can quickly receive the full amount of your Economic Impact Payment.
Individuals who receive SSI and VA benefits need to provide the IRS more information about their qualifying children if they didn’t file a tax return with the IRS in 2018 or 2019. Individuals must use the Non-Filers tool by Tuesday May 5, 2020 to ensure they receive their maximum Economic Impact Payment of $500 per eligible child, in addition to their automatic payment of $1,200.
