April 18, 2023 – International TAS taxpayers can now call one phone number regardless of their location.
If you live overseas and need to contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS), you can now call +15.15.56.GO.TAS / +15.15.56.46.827. This phone line is programmed to automatically route your call to Hawaii or Puerto Rico, depending on your country of origin and TAS business hours. Previously, international taxpayers had to determine which office to contact based on Greenwich Mean Time for their location.
International callers selecting Spanish will be routed to the Puerto Rico office for assistance.
TAS also added a new fax number for our international taxpayers to submit information to Hawaii. The current phone and fax numbers for use by international taxpayers are:
International phone line, English or Spanish: +15.15.56.GO.TAS / +15.15.56.46.827 (not toll-free)
International fax number for Guaynabo, Puerto Rico: 304-707-9793 (not toll-free)
International fax number for Honolulu, Hawaii: 681-247-3158 (not toll-free)
TAS is pleased to announce these new phone and fax numbers, which were established to help ease the burden on taxpayers living abroad in identifying which TAS office – Hawaii or Puerto Rico – to contact for assistance.
