FEDERAL TAX FILING AND PAYMENT DEADLINE EXTENDED

The Treasury Department and the IRS announced new tax relief because of the COVID-19 emergency. As a result, any taxpayer with a Federal income tax payment or Federal income tax return due April 15, 2020, is entitled to relief from tax filing and payment deadlines. The due date for filing Federal income tax returns and making Federal income tax payments due April 15, 2020, is automatically postponed to July 15, 2020. The relief does not apply to any payment or deposit of any other type of Federal tax, or the filing of any Federal information return that is due April 15, 2020. The relief applies to all taxpayers. You do not have to file extensions forms (Form 4868 or Form 7004) in order to file Federal income tax returns or pay Federal income tax by July 15, 2020, and you do not need to contact the IRS to qualify. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-20-18.pdf
